The “Porque Te Quiero” campaign has provided mammograms and sonomammograms to more than 8,000 women in the free trade zone and surrounding communities to date.
Santiago, October 28, 2021.- The Santiago Free Trade Zone Corporation (CZFS) continues “Building Hope” with PQTQ 2021, in a country where breast cancer diagnosis usually comes at stages three and four of the disease. The PQTQ campaign, an initiative that is part of the Health pillar of the entity’s Corporate Social Accountability Plan, sealed its seventh version with its traditional human ribbon; on this occasion formed with a reduced number of people and observing COVID-19 safety protocols.
Gathered in the expansion area of the Victor Espaillat Mera Industrial Park (PIVEM), Human Management leaders, representing the companies of the Park, were the stars of this ribbon symbolizing the fight against breast cancer. Carrying pink umbrellas, ladies raised their hands, emphasizing the call to carry out timely screening, in order to mitigate the statistics of the most frequent variety of breast cancer among women worldwide.
Fernando Garc铆a, the Corporation’s Operations Director, reported that PQTQ has allowed them to build a retaining wall to prevent the progression of a silent disease such as breast cancer. When we began the seventh version of 篓Porque Te Quiero篓, 7,300 women had been directly benefited with the pertinent screenings. We have performed more than 8,000 mammograms and sonomammograms at M膿dica to date, surpassing all expectations,” the executive expressed.
Fernando Garc铆a thanked the managers of the Human Resources departments of the industrial site, who have been a fundamental pillar in the logistics of the campaign and in the mission of ensuring that no female employee is left out of the screening.
He also thanked PQTQ 2021’s allied companies: AFP Siembra, AFP Crecer, AFP Popular, ARS Futuro, ASEMAP, ARS Monumental and ARS Yunen.
