Santiago de los Caballeros, May 9, 2024 – In a significant development for the V铆ctor Espaillat Mera Industrial Park (PIVEM), the Bussmann division of the multinational EATON Corporation will commence operations. EATON is renowned for its expertise in manufacturing electrical equipment.
Under the patronage of the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Pe帽a Rodr铆guez, executives from EATON Corporation formalized establishing the fuse division within a state-of-the-art facility tailored to its specific operational needs.
This milestone coincides with the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the Santiago Free Trade Zone Corporation (Corporaci贸n Zona Franca Santiago CZFS), highlighting the park’s continuous growth and pivotal role in driving economic development in the region.
Miguel Lama, President of the Corporation’s Board of Directors, emphasized the strategic significance of EATON Corporation’s presence in PIVEM. “Eaton’s integration into PIVEM signifies the commencement of a new chapter and a pivotal moment in the evolution of Santiago Business City. This ambitious endeavor aims to transform Santiago into a Smart City, fostering innovation and global business opportunities.”
Lama elaborated, “Beyond the mere establishment of an industrial park, our 2025-2030 Master Plan envisions Santiago Business City as an urban hub for research, development, and global commerce.”
EATON Bussmann
The manufacturing operations of electrical equipment and fuse assemblies under the EATON Bussmann division will employ over 350 individuals. Founded in 1911, EATON Corporation brings a wealth of experience and expertise to PIVEM. At the inauguration ceremony, key executives including Fernando Ceccarelli, President of the Protection, Control, and Solutions division, Rob Griffin, Vice President and General Manager of the Bussmann division, and Jean Moscoso, Plant Manager, marked this significant occasion.
